How do I choose an image for a commission-piece?

Relaxed, natural portraits work best, especially those showing some facial expression and character

Close-up images translate well into his artform

Images with strong eye-contact will look very striking

How is the artwork framed?

Quality Valchromat® engineered wood backboard is used to reinforce all larger artworks. Thin matt black aluminium moulding then compliments the LEGO® artwork. This combination provides both robustness & a modern contemporary finish

Other framing options can always be discussed

How long will it take to make?

Following selection of the image(s) to be used, a mock-up of the proposed artwork will be provided for your approval. The finished artwork will then usually be dispatched within 28 days from approval

Of course this may vary depending on individual circumstances

Can it be made in colour?

Up close, the mosaic effect works wonderfully well as a simple black & white blockwork pattern. At larger viewing distances multiple 'shades of grey' seem to magically appear as the 'hidden' image is revealed

Multi-coloured artworks can be made by special request

Is the LEGO® glued together?

Genuine LEGO® fits together & stays together very well without the need for chemical adhesives. Keeping any artwork out of the reach of little hands is important though. Individual LEGO® bricks may be considered a choking hazard to younger children (3 years & under)

Where do I put it?

Ideally somewhere that allows a variable viewing distance. Up close, the image will be an abstract pattern, but viewing from further away will reveal the ‘hidden’ image. The artwork lends itself to being positioned in a large or open-plan room, or on a wall that can be viewed through a doorway of an adjoining room or hallway, or even opposite a window so that you can see it from outside! This works extremely well as the artwork can appear almost ‘photo-like’ at greater distances

How do I make payment?

I find that PayPal is by far the easiest & safest way to make payment

Direct bank transfer is also possible if you prefer

How much is delivery?

Standard courier rates apply - purely dependent on your location and size/weight of artwork(s)

Purchasing from outside the UK may incur customs and VAT duties as items enter your country. These duties are set by the government of each country and are outside our control
